The Hand Project - a team building with social commitment!
The Hand Project is a unique team event in which the team assembles a mechanical hand prosthesis from around 30 individual parts. The finished hand prostheses are then sent to many countries around the world and distributed locally as a free donation for people with hand and arm defects, caused by landmines, accidents or from birth.
For more than 10 years, these hand prostheses have been assembled and given away at social events in the USA, New Zealand and Australia as part of The Hand Project – Berlin – meanwhile more than 100,000 hand prostheses!
The hand project enables employees to take part in the company's social commitment and experience for themselves how the company is socially committed. This personal experience has a completely different effect on motivation and loyalty than a report about a donation – no matter how big and important it is for everyone involved.
The Hand Project is a corporate event that combines a team building program with a social purpose. Especially medium-sized and large companies with corporate social responsibility (CSR) are enthusiastic about this team building idea. In small teams of 3 - 4 people, the purely mechanical hand prosthesis is assembled from the individual parts, a rough description and simple tools. Without being aware of it, communication, teamwork and cooperation are at the heart of teamwork. Every team member is involved, and the positive feeling of doing something really useful and good lifts the spirits and thus promotes team spirit.
